UNDERLAYMENT

UNDERLAYMENT

Roofing & Siding underlayment is a water-resistant or waterproof barrier material that helps protect your building from the elements. It is installed directly into your roof deck. MetalMax supplies a variety of underlayment to help with insulation and leakage prevention.

SYNTHETIC

Titanium™ UDL-25 is a highly engineered coated woven synthetic material that offers a reliable secondary layer of protection under all types of primary sloped roofing material. Unlike felt, its recyclable polyolefin construction doesn't expand or contract and is inert to mold and mildew growth. UDL25 is 100% synthetic and unlike oil saturated felt is unaffected by water. It is engineered to lay flat and will not buckle or wrinkle when exposed to temperature and moisture fluctuations on the roof. Unlike oil saturated felts, UDL25 does not dry out, leach oils in the heat, nor does it become stiff, difficult to roll or crack in the cold.

UDL25 is designed for use under; asphalt and synthetic shingles, metal roofing, and cedar shakes. Titanium UDL25 must be covered by primary roofing within 180 days of application. Before installing, make sure the deck surface is dry and free of debris. For slopes 2:12 and higher, UDL25 is to be laid out horizontally (parallel) to the eave with the printed side up. The use of a roofing hammer, hatchet hammer, pneumatic air or gas driven fastener tool is acceptable.

PEEL & STICK

The Titanium PSU30 Peel and Stick Roof Underlayment is the only modified rubberized asphalt PEEL & STICK underlayment with a tough, rugged surface and a self-sealing lap system. It is an advanced, slip resistant, synthetic polymer surfaced, self-adhering, roofing underlayment that is designed for 2:12 or greater sloped roof applications subject to the effects of ice damming and wind driven rain. Titanium PSU30 can be used under many types of roofing materials including: metal, tile, shakes, slate, and both asphalt and synthetic shingles.

To install this underlayment, first make sure your surface is free of debris and dry. It may be applied directly to a plywood, OSB, concrete or masonry roof surface and should be fully covered as soon as possible or within 180 days. Priming is not required for attaching to wood surfaces when the temperature is above 40°F. Concrete and masonry decks should be primed with a solvent or a water-based primer that meets ASTM D41 for asphalt based self-adhesive membranes. To apply, peel back 1-2 feet of release liner, align the membrane then hand press or walk on, and follow with a 40 lb. or heavier pressure roller to smooth and secure the membrane.

SINGLE/DOUBLE BUBBLE INSULATION

Single
This AYR-Foil A1V reflective insulation comes 4-mm thick and consists of a layer of air bubbles laminated between aluminum foil on one side and white polyethylene on the other. Benefits of this insulation include:
  • Reduces condensation, air infiltration, and energy costs
  • Reduces inside heat gains and provides an excellent R-value
  • Protects livestock
  • Is a reliable, long-lasting vapor barrier
  • Prevents condensation and is not affected by mold
  • Easy to clean
Double
This AYR-Foil A2V reflective insulation comes 8-mm thick and consists of two layers of air bubbles laminated between aluminum foil and a while polyethylene film.

VINYL BACK INSULATION

Bay Insulation's faced MBI fiberglass is a resilient, flexible fiberglass blanket laminated to a high-quality vapor retarder facing. It is the most common and cost-effective solution used for insulating pre-engineered metal buildings. Faced fiberglass can be installed as a single layer, or combined with unfaced MBI fiberglass and various support hardware to create a "High R-Value System."
